Thai Pineapple fried rice!

I'm Elisabeth from 3E2. i went to Chinatown complex, Smith Road to scout out delicious food in that vicinity. And wah la! i found delicacies along one of the five foot way . This is a Thai-malay food stall at Smith Road. it provides a vast variety of thai and malay food like the famous mee goreng and famous thai style fish.

A little bit of info, rice is a staple component of Thai cuisine, as it is of most Asian cuisines. The highly prized, sweet-smelling jasmine rice is indigenous to Thailand. This naturally aromatic long-grained rice grows in abundance in the verdant patchwork of paddy fields that blanket Thailand's central plains. Its aroma bears no resemblance to the sweet smell of jasmine blossoms, but like jasmine flowers, this rice is precious and fragrant, a small everyday delight. Steamed rice is accompanied by highly aromatic curries, stir-frys and other dishes, incorporating sometimes large quantities of chillies, lime juice and lemon grass. Curries, stir-frys and others may be poured onto the rice creating a single dish called khao rad gang , a popular meal when time is limited. Sticky rice khao neow is a unique variety of rice that contains an unusual balance of the starches present in all rice, causing it to cook up to a pleasing sticky texture. It is the daily bread of Laos and substitutes ordinary rice in rural Northern and Northeastern Thai cuisine, where Lao cultural influence is strong.

This is the famous thai pineapple fried rice sold there. the rice was delicious, soft and appetising, fried with magnificient pineapple juice, baby prawns and pineapple bits. It was enhance as the fried rice was served in a halfed pineapple, making it so appetising that you can't resist. It may look like any normal fried rice they serve in coffee shops but you will change your opinion after you tried it. It was very delicious, by just taking a small bite, you can actually taste the pineapple juice as you chew. the quantity and quality of this food is present.

On the contrary, due to the overwelming tourist that flood chinatown every day, this thai fried pineapple rice cost $10- $15! i agree that it's delicious but the price may be a little too much. so, i will strongly encourage every one to try this pineapple rice, maybe as a group to share the cost. but if you want to go alone, be very careful of your pocket!

This is my evidence that the pineapple rice is fantastic :D

on the top right hand corner is the famous ice kacang, also sold at smith road. it taste like any ordinary ice kacang and cost $2.50, a little above average.

so that's the end of my tour around my neighbour hood :D
