Hi all, I'm Eunice from 3e2. As you all know, this is Mee Siam, one of the popular one-dish meals in Singapore. Mee Siam, which means "Siamese noodle", is a dish of thin rice noodles (vermicelli) in spicy, sweet and sour light gravy. Originally a Thai dish, it became a Nyonya specialty that is now prepared by Indians, Malays as well as Chinese stalls in Singapore with slight variation in ingredients. It is served with salted soy beans, dried bean curd, boiled egg, and tamarind, garnished with spring onions and Chinese chives. This dish can also be found in other countries such as Malaysia, etc. I brought this from a Chinese stall, located near Buangkok MRT station. It is tasty and affordable. It cost me just $3 and i could fill my tummy with this delicious dish. Mee Siam is also halal, which means that all ethnic group are able to eat it. I would rate this 8/10 as although it was delicious, it is not the best Mee Siam i had eaten in my whole life. That's all :)

I am Crystal from 3E2. I went to Chinatown (Smith Street) to try the following. Fried Kway Teow

Fried kway teow is a common food which can be found in many places. The taste of the fried kway teow is average.

Thai Barbequed Sambal Stingray

The meat of the stingray in the middle is tender and the top is a little crispy. When dipped in lime and chinchalok, it has a sweet but yet sour taste.

Salad you tiao

This salad you tiao does not include vegetables, but instead i think it is filled with fish meat. The outer layer, which comprises of flour is very crispy and the inside is soft. Salad you tiao can be dipped in mayonnaise for a better taste. I think that this dish is great.

Lastly, i tried the glutinous rice balls in ginger soup.

I bought 4 sesame glutinous rice balls. The glutinous rice ball has a chewy outer layer. Although the smell and taste of ginger in the soup is too overpowering, the rice balls were fantastic.

I recommend that you try out all the food above as they are very tasty, especially the salad you tiao and stingray.

Asian Food

This is called 'Roti John'. This is another appetizer that is commonly eaten as a snack. This dish can be found in many asian stalls. It ingredients consist of egg and bread. It ingredient can be modified due to one's liking. It is delicious eaten like it is or with condiments such as mayonaise or chili sauce.

This is a Malay traditional food. It is some kind of an appetizer. It is called 'Tahu Goreng'. It means Fried Tofu. Its sweet and delicious. If one like it hot, the server will add chili to the gravy. Bean sprout is added in this dish. The gravy is crunchy as it contains crushed, fried peanut. It can be found in many Malay stalls. It is quite common among the Malays. Even other races tried this dish as it is not heavy for a snack.

FOOD!!!!

A good day to all of you, i am Aven from 3e2. For this assignment, i would like to share this singapore originated dish with all of you, the Adam road food centre's tauhu goreng. The crispy tahu and bean sprout Coated with peanut sauce certainly brings joy to those to ate it. The home-made peanut sauce with it heavenly taste, the sauce and the tauhu goreng don't really fuse like fish soup with rice and so its like eating two different things at 1 go. I chose this dish because it is halal and don't contain beef, so this snack can be eaten by all singaporeans.
The dish is not very expensive. Its pretty cheap in fact. $3:50 IS ALL YOU NEED FOR A TASTY PLATE OF TAUHU GORENG. My rating for this store's tauhu goreng will be 7/10 because this dish is too oily and personally i feel weird having two type of flavours in my mouth, with that i will end my post.
