This picture shows the Hainanese chicken rice I ate at Food Republic which is located at Suntec City's Convention Centre.The dish comprises of roasted chicken garnished with cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce topped with light soy sauce, a bowl of rice and a bowl of cabbage soup.While the cost may be more than what the average customer expects to pay,about $4.50-$7,the dish was surprising tasty.The meal was prepared well,the chicken being tender and went very well with the light and chili sauces.The rice tasted better than the normal rice as it is cooked with chicken stock and other special ingredients.Overall,I think that Hainanese Chicken Rice deserves a high position in Singapore's most popular foods.However,the right place,taste and price is needed in order to truly experience the true flavour of this dish.
